Flights will start from the first Darbhanga airport in North Bihar from September. First there will be partial movement of some aircraft. After three months, the airport will be fully operational from December. This agreement was made in a meeting of Bihar's Water Resources Minister Sanjay Jha with Union Civil Aviation Minister Hardeep Puri on Monday. Hardeep Puri himself tweeted the information about the meeting with Sanjay Jha.

Union Civil Aviation Minister Hardeep Puri told that he had a conversation with Sanjay Jha about Darbhanga airport. Sources reveal that there was some problem of payment of money regarding Darbhanga airport, which was resolved in the meeting. Earlier on June 24, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar had reached Madhubani to take stock of the construction work of Darbhanga airport. From there, he had asked the Civil Aviation Minister to expedite the construction work to make it operational soon after talking on the phone. Along with this, the officials were also instructed to complete its construction work.

The Chief Minister had asked the DGM of the Airport Authority of India present there to complete the remaining work at a fast pace. He had also directed the DM of Darbhanga to continuously monitor the construction work.

CM Nitish Kumar had suggested
During the inspection, CM Nitish Kumar had also suggested to make a separate way to connect the terminal building to the NH and to make the arrival and exit route from gate number one, so that the routes of the Air Force and the airport remain separate. Along with this, he had asked to widen the taxi track.

Ease of air travel for the people of North Bihar
Darbhanga airport is an important project for Bihar. On its commissioning, the people of entire North Bihar including Darbhanga will be comfortable in air travel. The scope of new business will increase in North Bihar. Economic activities will intensify in the area.
