Was deeply privileged to release ‘The Emergency Diaries - Years that forged a leader’ a book that delves into the compelling role that our dynamic PM Sh Narendra Modi Ji, played as a young RSS Pracharak in the fight against Emergency; at a a Seminar on ‘Fifty Years of Emergency’ at the office of BJP Chandigarh.
Those dark days of Emergency continue to evoke sentiments among those who witnessed the efforts to crush democracy, democratic values and the Indian Constitution and were at the receiving end of the atrocities perpetrated upon citizens.
For the younger generation it is a lesson on how a regime took all powers, rights and liberties in its own hands and crushed everything that we hold so dear to our hearts as a democracy.
Those years have to be revisited again and again so that the younger generations can tell the difference between an undemocratic regime and a government that is focussed on taking India on a glorious journey towards being #ViksitBharat under the inclusive, compassionate and decisive leadership of PM Sh Narendra Modi Ji.
