Happy to participate in the 14th Foundation Day of the Pune International Centre, a forum for informed policy discourses since 2010. Energy security will be a key determinant of our journey towards becoming a #ViksitBharat.
I explained the various steps being taken towards meeting the challenges of energy trilemma- ensuring energy availability, affordability and sustainability, under the leadership of PM #NarendraModi Ji.
Our multi pronged strategy is based on a) dramatically increasing the domestic exploration & production of oil & gas b) replacing some part of imported fossil fuels by biofuel blending c) focus on gas based economy, d) developing a robust refining sector to make us a net exporter of petroleum products and e) energy transition through EVs and green hydrogen.
In all the above areas, path breaking steps have been taken and India is the only country where prices of petrol & diesel have come down in the last 3 years, despite unprecedented global turmoil.
It was a pleasure to interact with the distinguished members of PIC, which has developed into a formidable platform for intelligent policy discussions.
