Donald Trump Thanks PM Modi At Rajghat After Sabarmati Ashram Visit

Donald Trump’s message in the visitor’s book at the Mahatma Gandhi’s memorial in New Delhi on Tuesday, February 25, 2020, mentioned the icon and praised him over his work. This happened a day after the American leader left a note at Sabarmati Ashram Ahmedabad. 

Trump and his wife Melania Trump paid homage to Mahatma Gandhi at his memorial at Rajghat. He also laid the wreath there after the ceremonial reception at the Rashtrapati Bhavan happened.  

Donald Trump signed the visitor’s book writing, “The American people stand strongly with a sovereign and wonderful India - the vision of the great Mahatma Gandhi. This is a tremendous honor!”

When US President paid tribute at Rajghat, he dedicated the memorial to India's founding father, Mahatma Gandhi. He was gifted a sculpture of Mahatma Gandhi by Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri.

Trump and his wife also planted a tree at Rajghat. 

On Monday, February 24, 2020, the US President had addressed the crowd at the ‘Namaste Trump’ event at Ahmedabad Motera Stadium along with PM Modi. Here both the leaders talked about their growing ties between the two nations. 

Later that day, Trump and his wife Melania visited the Taj Mahal in Agra. They will leave for the US tonight.
