Foreign airlines’ not allowed at the expense of Indian airlines: Hardeep Singh Puri

Oct 08,2020

Civil aviation minister Hardeep Singh Puri has said that the time has come to make it clear that foreign airlines will not be allowed to flourish at the expense of Indian airlines. This comes after Lufthansa had to cancel its flight from India to Germany on September 28, after the DGCA withdrew permission for them saying there is a restriction on Indians who want to travel to Germany. In response, Germany too withdrew their permissions and Air India had to cancel all Frankfurt flights till October 14. During the press conference, Puri said, ‘The issue is not about allowing foreign carriers in or not. We are all for foreign carriers operating here. Make no mistake. But I think the time has come for the message to go out loud and clear that it will not be done at the expense of the Indian carriers.’
