Hindustan | Union Minister's statement on the economic slowdown - the reason for the decrease in the sale of cars is to use more metro and cabs

Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri said on Thursday that the reason for the decline in car sales is more number of people using Metro and taxi service providers Ola and Uber through the app.Earlier, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman had also said that the reason for the slowdown in the auto sector is the change in the state of mind of those born in the mid-90s to early 2000s.These people prefer to take the service of app based taxi service provider like Ola and Uber instead of paying monthly installment after buying a car.His remarks were criticized by various sections.

Releasing the book titled 'Sikh Heritage of Nepal', the Minister of Civil Aviation and Housing and Urban Affairs said economic slowdown is being talked about and he is one of those who always understand the problem.Puri said, "...in the case of a car, there is definitely an increase and sometimes a slowdown.But looking at the whole picture reveals the correct position.When I became the Minister of Urban Affairs, at that time the total number of people taking the service of Delhi Metro was 24 lakhs daily... now this number has crossed 60 lakhs.

Hardeep Puri said, "Today if you want to go somewhere, prefer metro or public transport or take cabs.the world is changing.Regarding the Ministry of Urban Affairs, he said that by 2030, 600 million people will be in urban areas in the country.
