Hindustan.com | Delhi Metro Pink Line: Shiv Vihar-Trilokpuri route inaugurated

Union Minister of Urban Affairs and Housing Hardeep Singh Puri and Deputy Chief Minister of Delhi Manish Sisodia on Wednesday inaugurated the section of Pink Line of Delhi Metro from Shiv Vihar to Trilokpuri Sanjay Jheel Metro Station.Hardeep Puri and Manish Sisodia inaugurated this section through remote at Metro Bhawan.Mangu Singh, Managing Director, Delhi Metro and senior officials were also present on the occasion.

Metro service will start for passengers on this section from 2 pm today.With the commencement of service on this section, about 18 km long, the network of Delhi Metro has increased to about 314 km and the number of metro stations will also increase to 229.The Commissioner of Metro Rail Safety had on October 24 given security clearance for operation of Metro services on this section.The total length of the Pink Line is about 59 km and at present the Metro is running from Majlis Park to Lajpat Nagar.

This 17.86 km long section of Pink Line has 15 elevated stations namely Trilokpuri Sanjay Lake, Mayur Vihar Phase-2, East Vinod Nagar, Mandawali, West Vinod Nagar, IP Extension, Anand Vihar ISBT, Karkardooma Court, Krishna Nagar, East There are Azad Nagar, Welcome, Jaffrabad, Maujpur, Babarpur, Gokulpuri, Johri Enclave and Shiv Vihar.There will be three interchange stations Anand Vihar, Karkardooma and Welcome on this section.Delhi Metro has so far commissioned 106 km long line under Phase III, while 34 km long lines are yet to be opened.
