It takes two to tango: Hardeep Singh Puri on Farmers’ Protests

After the violence on January 26 at the Red fort in New Delhi, many assumed that the protests may soon die out. Nearly ten days later, it is a political challenge, a law-and-order challenge and a story that has echoed across international borders. In conversation with ET NOW's Nayantara Rai, Civil Aviation Minister Hardeep Singh Puri reiterated the government’s stance – farmers should be back on the negotiating table and if necessary, the Centre is willing to tweak the laws. Laws are designed to benefit farmers and the cause of well-meaning and hard-working farmers should not be hijacked by other elements, he adds.
