Considering his splendid work as Minister of State (Independent Charge), Prime Minister Narendra Modi has included him in his cabinet as a cabinet minister. He has been given the important responsibility of the Ministry of Petroleum and at the same time the Ministry of Housing and Urban Development has also been kept with him. After taking charge of the Petroleum Ministry, Puri said, "I am blown away by the trust the Prime Minister has shown in me. He has entrusted me with the responsibility of this important ministry. We will continue the good work of Dharmendra Pradhan. Energy is important for any economy. Before COVID, our economy was $2.89 trillion and we are trying to take it to $5 trillion. There are many possibilities and challenges in the energy sector. We have to adopt technology according to the times. We have a great opportunity with the changes that are taking place around the world. RBI Governor Shaktikanta Das gave this advice to the government on petrol and diesel , reward for good work Puri, a former Indian Foreign Service officer, was given independent charge of the Ministry of Housing and Urban Development in September 2017. In the second term of the Modi government, Puri was given the responsibility of urban development as well as civil aviation. He performed these responsibilities well and got the reward for this as a cabinet minister. Vande Bharat Mission was launched to bring Indians stranded abroad in the Kovid-19 epidemic. It was much appreciated. His work in the Ministry of Urban Development has also been highly appreciated. Puri was selected for the Indian Foreign Service in 1974. He was the Ambassador and High Commissioner of India to many countries. He was the Permanent Representative of India to the United Nations from 2009 to 2013. In January 2014, he joined the Bharatiya Janata Party. He is currently a Rajya Sabha MP from Uttar Pradesh. Government oil companies on Thursday presented a salute to the new Petroleum Minister. Petrol price again increased by 35 paise. Along with this, diesel was also made expensive by 9 paise per liter. In view of the rising prices of both the fuels, Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, who ruled the Petroleum Ministry for 7 years, has been replaced as the Education Minister. Petrol went to Rs 100.56 per liter at the Indian Oil (IOC) pump in Delhi Market on Thursday. Diesel is also being sold here at Rs 89.62 per liter.
