Union Petroleum Minister Hardeep Singh Puri told in a special conversation with News Nation in Bengaluru that he has signed the notification regarding the launch of E20 fuel and in the next few days E20 fuel will be launched in India. will be launched. From the year 2024 to 2025, the target of 20 percent biofuel blending will be achieved. Although, earlier this target was to be completed by 2030, but due to the speed with which work is being done in this field, the target is being completed four years in advance. E20 fuel contains a mixture of 80 per cent petrol and 20 per cent ethanol.

Hardeep Singh Puri said that he feels that after the introduction of 20 percent biofuel blending, people themselves will say that now the blending of ethanol should be increased. Biofuel made from agricultural products like corn, jute, potatoes and sugarcane is manufactured and 20 percent blending of ethanol increases the octane value and oxygen capacity of petrol, which makes the smoke coming out of the vehicles less polluted. 

He told that all the departments of the government are also working fast on green hydrogen and green hydrogen will prove to be a game changer in the coming days.
