PM Modi ensures affordable fuel to citizens even during unprecedented international price volatility

Union Minister Shri Hardeep Singh Puri Ji during his address at the NDTV’s Indian of the Year award emphasizes the major government decision that shaped India’s energy need, the encouraging & decisive leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi Ji has inspired our public sector OMCs to act as good corporate citizens & ensure affordable fuel to citizens even during unprecedented international price volatility. They reduced the prices as soon as they got some room to do so despite the continuing global turmoil. Then is the case of not disinvesting BPCL, the decision to not disinvest the energy Maharatna was a good one. In the first three quarters of this year alone, its net profit earnings have nearly matched the targeted earnings to the Govt of India from its intended disinvestment. This in a way is a reflection of the upward growth trajectory of our robust & growing energy sector. This was not the case with Air India which either had to be put on the block or shut down, so we disinvested.
